Questo “albero” mostra gli ossigenatori prodotti dalla Dideco (ora Sorin) dalla sua fondazione (’78) a tutt’oggi.
L’ossigenatore è uno dei componenti della macchina cuore-polmone. Tale macchina sostituisce sia la funzione pompante del cuore, sia quella di scambio gas dei polmoni, durante le operazioni a cuore aperto e fermo.
L’ossigenatore è progettato per ossigenare il sangue ed eliminare l’anidride carbonica. E’ un dispositivo “usa e getta”. Contiene circa 2 – 4 mq di membrana, sotto forma di capillare, che è permeabile al gas, ma impermeabile al sangue.

OXYGENATORS
This “tree” shows the oxygenators produced by Dideco (now Sorin) from its founding (’78) up to the present day.
The oxygenator is one component of the heart-lung machine.
This machine replaces both the heart’s pumping action and the lung’s gas exchange function, allowing the surgeon to perform open heart surgery on a stationary heart.
The oxygenator is designed to oxygenate the blood and remove carbon dioxide. It is disposable and contains about 2-4 m2 of membrane, in the form of hollow fibers, which is permeable to gas but impermeable to blood.
